My New WIP (no, not whip, but work in progress) | April 2020.

Well hello there! It's been a minute or two since I've uploaded on this blog, and needless to say, I've missed it! I don't usually like to talk about my WIP's until they're underway, and even then I find it hard for me to talk about them unless it's NaNoWriMo related, haha! But today I decided that I might as well share with you what I've been up to since I last updated.
I posted recently on my Instagram account (found here) a very blurry video of my Scrivener document about my new project. So far, this WIP isn't much, but I'm happy with where it's going.
Just to give a little bit of insight, the issue of climate change and pollution (in oceans primarily) is addressed in a very cool way (well, in my opinion) and I'm very excited that it was an element that spoke to me to include.
This is also a pretty big fat for me to take on- I've never drafted anything above 50,000 words, and this project is aimed to reach 100,000. It's split up into four parts, each consisting of (at the moment) ten chapters and 25,000 words each. That's going to change depending on what parts needless and what parts need more, but as a rough outline of word count, that's what it's looking like. I'm hoping that even though this isn't a NaNoWriMo project, that I can still get a handle on it and get it drafted at least. I did sign up for camp NaNoWriMo in April, and although we're now on lockdown in our houses, I've decided that the best way for me to draft the story is a little bit each day- 30 minutes or so of writing just to write. I know that the NaNoWriMo process always works for e completing drafts, but I'm hoping that maybe putting my car on cruise control some could work out in my benefit too.
I've outlined the first part so far, and after discussing it with a much-beloved writing friend of mine, I've decided to just go ahead and hop on into the story. I've so far only written about 1,000 words, but for the beginning of this story, they're a 1,000 words that I'm pretty happy with. Sometimes the most daunting task is writing the story, so you outline and outline until you feel s comfortable in the outline that you don't write the story. I would hate for that to happen to a story like this. Sometimes it's just best to jump into your writing without thinking much about it.
It's the first draft, right? There's things called revisions for a reason.
Anyways, that's just a quick little update on how writing has been gong for me, and where I think this project is going. I'm attempting to update this blog every week on Tuesdays, so be sure to look out for that! I missed blogging, and now since I have just a smidge more time on my hands, I felt it was time to go ahead and put in a schedule of updating.
Hopefully, you'll enjoy reading about my WIP progressing over the coming times (sporadically- don't worry I won't bore you with WIP posts all the time ;). And kind of see how it progresses as time goes on.
